25th Anniversary Celebrations

Last weekend was a momentous one in the history of the club, as they recalled their all Ireland junior club title of 2001.  On Sunday morning the team were guests of Cavan GAA board, as they were treated to lunch in the Kilmore Hotel. Later with reserved parking & seating, the boys enjoyed the Junior final.  At half time, the former President of the GAA, Aogan O Fearghail introduced the team to the crowd. Looking resplendent in their new commemorative tops, kindly sponsored by  Moynagh Accounting, the boys waved to the stand in turn.

On the previous evening around 250  people attended a brilliant dinner dance in the Errigal Hotel. The boys were presented with the original jerseys, which they wore 25 years ago in their run to the title. The jerseys had been carefully curated all these years by current club treasurer, Roseanna Clarke. MC for the evening Aogan O Fearghail introduced the players as well as the Ladies team and camogie team who won their respective leagues in the year 2000.  County board chairman Mark O’Rourke addressed the ensemble and praised the good work being done on and off the pitch. Club chairman Damien Clarke congratulated all of the award recipients and the boys looking resplendent in their blue Drumgoon ties, kindly sponsored by Boyle for men. The happy bunch of boys & girls danced the night away to the sound of ODD Time.
