In glorious sunshine, the President of the GAA, Aogan O’ Fearghail, officially opened the new walkway on Boyle Park, on Sunday 22/11/15. Over 50 people took part in the 5K run, which was won by Damien Connolly and over 100 people completed the 5K walk. Chairperson of the club, Roseanna Clarke, welcomed everyone to Boyle Park and said that everyone was welcome to come down and use this great asset anytime. Roseanna thanked everyone who helped out, especially Damian Clarke who spent endless hours on Boyle Park, helping to develop the walkway. The ladies laid on a veritable feast of soup and sandwiches for all. Regular walker on Boyle Park, Jim Cochrane presented Aogan with a hand carved walking stick, to mark the occasion. The walk around both pitches is exactly 1K. Roseanna thanked everyone who helped out on the day and remarked how beautiful and tranquil the countryside is, along the banks of the Annalee river.
