GAA Congress
The GAA annual congress will commence, this Friday evening in the Slieve Russell Hotel, ballyconnell
On Saturday evening next, at 4 o clock, Aogán Ó Fearghail will be elected as Uachtaráin, Chumann Lúthchleas Gael. Aogan will become the 38th President of Cumann Luthcleas Gael. Many people from the area are travelling to Ballyconnel for the event. It will be a special occasion for himself, family, club, county and especially his parents, Katie and Aidan.
At 6.30 Cardinal Sean Brady will celebrate Mass in the hotel, and this is followed, by a banquet, with Tommy Fleming performing. On Sunday, the Drumgoon GAA club will welcome Aogan back to Boyle Park, at 3 o oclock. Everyone in the area are cordially invited to the Park, to celebrate this special occasion. On Sunday night, the club has organised a social evening in Gallonray House at 8.30, and Aogan will be their special guest. On Monday Aogan will be interviewed on the Sean O Rourke, radio show, and will then commence his 3 year term. Everyone in the Parish wishes him the best of luck.
Boyle Park on TV
On this Thursday evening, Boyle Park, will be featured on the RTE six o oclock news. Last week Marty Morrissey visited Dernakesh NS, where he interviewed Aogan on his last day in Class. He then visited Boyle Park, where he was full of praise for all the good work carried out recently, by the Park committee, led by Damian Clarke. A new car park and “next game”, sign have been erected. The meeting room has been re-furbished, kit room and dressing rooms, have been improved. The park is now bedecked in Blue and Yellow and ready for the President’s visit.
