The Drumgoon girls were very unlucky to loose this keenly contested contest. The girls all played their hearts out and at half time, deservedly led by two points. Playing by the book, they gave all of their bench a run in the second half, and were unfortunate that at least some close decisions didn’t go their way. Team captain, Aoibhinn Fox was excellent at centre field, as were Marianne Mc Dermott and Aisling Holden in defence. Up front Tegan Rhea Clerkin fisted some great points, while the livewire Katie Mc Cabe proved to be a handful for the Gaels defence.
