- A goal from Cormac Clerkin in our first attack sent us on our way to the final. From the resulting kick out, the gaels went up the other end and also got a goal. Drumgoon’s next scores came from attacking half back Cian O Reilly followed by midfielder Charlie Gallagher. A well taken goal from Marty Hughes and further points from Cian & Cormac left the scores Drumgoon 2-04 Cavan Gaels 1-01 at the water break. Drumgoon’s midfield of Eoghan Mc Quillan & Charlie Gallagher were now getting on top and they joined Marty and Cormac in getting on the scoreboard. The Drumgoon defence were now defending stoutly and the Gaels only managed one point in this quarter to leave the scores 2-09 to 1-02 at half time. Drumgoon got the second half off to a good start with a point from Cormac Clerkin. The Gaels then hit a purple patch and hit 3 unanswered points to leave the scores 2-10 to 1-05 at the next water break. A goal from Conor O Brien further stretched Drumgoons lead, before Eoghan Mc Quillan added 2 points and further points from Ryan Fitzpatrick & Jack Morris seen Drumgoon safely into the final. This was an outstanding team performance from each and every player.
