Drumgoon senior men made the long 50K drive to play Ballymachugh, in the third round of the Intermediate Championship. Drumgoon started well and went into the lead through a well taken long range effort from Conor Moynagh. In the 10th minute of the game keeper Corey Smith suffered a medical problem, which resulted in the game being held up for over half an hour. Thankfully, Corey was able to walk off the pitch and is recovering well. Drumgoon never got back into the game before half time and the score stood at 6 points to 1 at the break. In the second half the boys rallied well for a time and points from Keith Fannin and Conal Farrell brought them right back into the hunt. However, as the clock passed 10o’clock, Ballymachugh got two quick goals on the break, to end the game.
