U12 Football
The Drumgoon U12 football team will progress unbeaten to the semi-finals of the
Division 2 League, following comprehensive performances against Shercock,
Cootehill, Killinkere and Denn in the league to date.
U14 Football
The Drumgoon U14's have notched up a series of strong performances in League
Division 2, with wins over Cootehill, Killinkere and Butlersbridge.
Notwithstanding their first defeat to Crosserlough in the league, they still
look favourites to make the semi-final in the coming weeks.
U16 Football
The Drumgoon U16 team continued the habit of home wins for Drumgoon,
with a solid performance and 8 point win over Killygarry last week. The squad
host Shercock on Boyle Park on Bank Holiday Monday at 2pm.
Minor Football.
Following a series of five games unbeaten (Mullahoran, Lavey, Drumalee,
Killinkere, Blackwater Gaels) an under-strength Drumgoon Minor squad travelled
to Killygarry on Sunday last and were overturned by the Killygarry/ Denn
amalgamation. However, the team are still in prime position for the League
semi-finals and confidence is high with just the Ramor Fixture remaining.
Senior Football
The Drumgoon Minor Team opened their league campaign on Saturday last with an
away fixture to Dernacreive Gaels (Templeport/Sawnlinbar) in Division 2 of the
All County Football League. It is notable that in this division, there are only
three club teams, Drumgoon, Gowna and Mullahoran. The remaining teams are
multi-club amalgamations. Nontheless, in a spirited and keenly contest. The
Division 5 team recorded an impressive home win in their opening encounter
against Drung, and were defeated in a highly entertaining encounter against a
strong Lavey team in their second game to leave them mid-table after 2 games.
This team is showing much promise at present and will no doubt look forward to
the Junior 'C' championship encounter against Cootehill in August.
