Droim Dhuin Eire Og is situated in North East Cavan, close to the Monaghan border. 

Initially established in 1904, Droim Dhúin has been at the heart of the development of the GAA in Cavan and Ulster and proudly boasts among its ranks, the Vice Chairman of Ulster Council/Comhairle Uladh in Aogan O Fearghail.   

Droim Dhúin Éire Óg were Cavan Junior Football Champions in 2001. The club went on to win both the Ulster and All-Ireland Junior Football Championship in 2002.  Later in 2002, Droim Dhúin secured back-to-back Cavan Championship wins by securing the Intermediate championship title and in 2003, were Ulster Intermediate Championship finalists.  In the last five years Droim Dhúin have added Senior League Division 2 and Division 3 titles and three reserve championship wins at adult level.   

As the club has grown, it has successfully accounted for 19 under-age league and championship titles in the last 20 years while also in its history, Drumgoon boast League and championship title wins in ladies football and camogie. 

At this time we are delighted to invite you to join with us, and be part of our Annual Golf Classic on 23rd August in Clones Golf Club by entering a team or affiliating as a sponsor or sponsoring a tee or hole.

A round of Golf with World Cup winner - Philip Walton

This year, Drumgoon are proud to announce their association with Philip Walton, US & European Tour golfer, runner up in this years Irish PGA and famously, Ryder Cup and World Cup winner in 1995 with the European and Irish teams.

Our winning team will secure a round with Philip Walton at either Roganstown Golf & Country Club or The Island, Malahide and overnight accomodation. 

Philip Walton (born 28 March 1962) attended Oklahoma State University in the United States and played for Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup in 1981 and 1983. He turned professional in 1983 and spent many years on the European Tour, making the top one hundred on the Order of Merit every year from 1983 to 1998, with a best ranking of thirteenth in 1995. He has won three European Tour events and four Irish PGA Championships.

Philip has represented Ireland or Great Britain & Ireland on many occasions. He was a member of the winning Republic of Ireland team at the 1990 Alfred Dunhill Cup and is a World Cup winner with the Irish Team (1995). Philip made a sensational Ryder Cup appearance for Europe in 1995 at Oak Hill, where he beat Jay Haas on the final green of the crucial penultimate singles match.
