big game. At 5.30pm on the 18th of May 2002 in Shamrock Park
Cremartin the match began between Drumgoon, {Cavan} and Belmullet,{Mayo}.
Belmullet had a good start with three points to no score but Drumgoon came back
and at half-time were leading 0-8/0-6. After half-time the two teams were

GIRLS SCHOOL CAMOGIE
|
The girls camogie started in May Mrs Connolly trains us at lunch break and on a Saturday morning along with Maria Clarke , who plays with the Drumgoon camogie club.
We did very well last year, we got to the final in Breifne Park,
and we hope to do well again this year. Girls from 5th class up are on the team.
We've played two matches already. Our first match was against Baillinagh.
We knew it would be a tough match and we'd try our very best.
It was a very tight match the backs did brilliant and stopped the Ballinagh team getting
a score.
The midfielders provided the ball to the forwards.
After a very tight match the sides level 1-1.
Our next match was against Bruskey.
It was tough game but Bruskey came out the better team. Our next match is against
Aughadreena. We hope to do very well.

Started of well with with good scores from our fast
Forwards, brilliant defence from our strong backs and two good hard working mid fielders feeding the forwards
With plenty of ball. In the end the score was 3-6 to 0-3. Once again Dernakesh had beat their opponent. Then
The next match was the crucial one that decided who will go on and play in the quarter -final. It was played in Terry Coyle Park Cavan town against Farham. Both teams were skilful and good at working together but Dernakesh had most of the play and had trouble scoring in the forwards . The finishing score was Farham 2-1
Dernakesh 1-4. It was a draw so both teams go through. Another match which has not yet been played is against St. Clare's national school Cavan town. If we beat St Clare's we will qualify for the semi -final. Lets hope we win and go through to play in another semi-final.

On the 31st. of January 2002, Oliver Clarke from Northern Sound came to record a radio program.
Our class were preparing for a Sunday show. Our radio program was based on the Beatitudes
and the Holy Spirit. Every pupil had a part to play. Some said poems while others read
the Beatides some explained what they meant and others sung songs and we even had our priest

It was an enjoyable day and with no doubt I would love to do it again!!!!!!
